Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 7 August 2026

These are the terms you agree to when you buy from Gold Coast Moving Boxes. They are written plainly so you can actually read them.

Who you are dealing with

Gold Coast Moving Boxes — a small business run by Alex from Parkwood, Queensland.

Prices

All prices are in Australian dollars. I am not registered for GST, so no GST is charged and my invoices are not tax invoices.

Prices can change without notice, but the price you see at checkout is the price you pay. If a price is listed incorrectly through an obvious error, I will contact you before processing the order and you can cancel for a full refund.

Ordering and stock

Placing an order is an offer to buy. The order is accepted when I send you a confirmation email.

I hold real stock in a garage, not a warehouse. If something sells out between your order and my picking it, I will call you and either refund that item in full or arrange a substitute — your choice.

Payment

Card payments are processed by WooPayments. I never see or store your card details.

Payment is taken when you order. Orders are not packed or held until payment clears.

Pickup

Pickup is from Parkwood, near the Gold Coast University Hospital, and it is free. I am open 7 days including weekends.

Call or text 0434 827 956 before coming — I will confirm the exact address and have your order ready. I will load your car for you.

Please collect within 14 days of ordering. If you need longer, just tell me and that is fine.

Delivery

Delivery is a flat $30 anywhere on the Gold Coast, for postcodes 4207 to 4230. I deliver personally, so I will contact you to arrange a time that suits.

Deliveries run Monday to Friday. Order before 1pm on a weekday and I aim to deliver the same day. Orders placed after 1pm, or on a weekend or public holiday, go out on the next business day. (Pickup from Parkwood is still available 7 days.) This is my normal standard rather than a guarantee — if something unusual comes up, a breakdown or a stock problem, I will call you and we will sort it out. If a same-day delivery matters to you, call or text me on 0434 827 956 before you order and I will confirm it.

If nobody is home, I will leave the order in a safe spot if there is one and let you know. Once it is delivered, responsibility for the goods passes to you.

Outside those postcodes, call me and we will work something out.

Returns and refunds

Change your mind? Return unused boxes in resalable condition within 30 days for a full refund of the goods. Full details are on the Refund and Returns Policy page.

Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. See the section below.

The $1 buyback

I buy back tea chest boxes for $1 each, paid in cash or by PayID. Some things worth knowing:

  • Boxes must be flattened, dry, clean and structurally sound. I will not buy back boxes that are crushed, cut, damp, mouldy or covered in tape residue.
  • Whether a box is in good enough condition is my call, made fairly and on the spot. You are welcome to take them away again if you disagree.
  • You do not have to have bought them from me.
  • For large or mixed loads, call first so I can confirm I have room and cash on hand.
  • The buyback is a separate transaction from a sale. It is not a refund, and it does not affect your return rights.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they are not of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

These rights apply to sale items and discounted items exactly as they do to everything else.

What I am not responsible for

Cardboard boxes are cardboard boxes. Subject to your rights above, I am not responsible for damage to your belongings caused by overloading a box, packing it badly, storing it somewhere damp, or stacking it under more weight than it was built for.

Weight guidance is on the product pages. Please read it — the book/wine box in particular is not designed to be filled to the top with books.

Website

I try to keep everything on this site accurate, but I cannot guarantee it is free of errors. Photographs are indicative; box dimensions are listed on each product page and those are what matter.

Privacy

How I handle your information is set out in the Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
